Great Northern Highway Realignment
Revegetation and Landscape Works, Port Hedland.
This large civil project has contracted IBN Services to supply native seeds, for direct seeding, to John Holland for the revegetation of the Great Northern Highway extension in Port Hedland.
A range of native grasses including Samphire, Spinifex and Mullamulla will provide stabilisation properties combined with Sturt Pea and Bird flower (the floral emblem of the Town of Port Hedland) for natural beauty.
The largest percentage of the revegetation will be a mix of Acacia’s (wattles), Cassia’s, Ipomoea Pes-caprae and Eucalyptus Vitrix. Seeds are mixed with river sand at our Wedgefield yard, and loaded into 10ltr containers for dispatch by the IBN Services Work Ready crew.
A local Pilbara company, Concrete Logistics, are supporting the project by supplying the local river sand and assisting with the mixing process. Due for completion in July 2014, this is the largest project undertaken by IBN Services to date.
